The astonishing blue gem is not only highly valued, it symbolizes calming, soothing, cleansing, and inspires truth, trust, and letting go. The lineage of this jewel time-travels back to ancient folklore; it was believed to be a treasure amongst mermaids, bringing eternal youth and happiness along with it. The oceanic hue of the gemstone is what inspired its name- painting a picture of the sea. It’s fluidity and liquid magic was sought after during Medieval times, seeing as how Aquamarine was thought to reawaken love between married couples. The supposed powers the stone held seemed to fit the vastness of the oceans. Dancing along the waves and sparkling with every touch of sunlight. As light and calm as the sea and the air, it provided the perfect gift to a bride from the groom the morning following the ceremony of their marriage.
